Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to drive technology, software, product, and/or solution development using in-depth technical expertise in Medium Voltage Drives. You will be managing the entire lifecycle of Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs) for ACS8080 drive. This role ensures robust testing strategies, drives design and reliability improvements, manages component obsolescence, and serves as the technical interface between internal teams and external manufacturing partners.

This role is contributing to the Motion High Power / Medium Voltage Drives in Aleksandrow Lodzki, Poland.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Testing Strategy: Own FCT roadmap; implement and maintain ICT, AOI, and FCT systems; monitor test coverage and yield.
  • Quality: Provide overview, defects, and performance indicators from manufacturing process through final testing and defects in the ABB manufacturing line and filed returns
  • Reliability & RCA: Lead root cause analysis; define reliability test plans; collaborate with PCBA process engineer, Engineering and EMS for corrective actions.
  • Design Changes: Drive design modifications based on RCA (root cause analysis), EOL (end of life components) and cost.
  • ECN Management: Prepare and track engineering change notices; ensure documentation and version control.
  • AVL Management: Maintain approved vendor list; evaluate suppliers; manage component lifecycle and obsolescence risks.
  • Stakeholder Interface: Act as technical point of contact for NPI/Process engineer, design and supply chain teams.

Wymagania

Qualifications for the role

  • M.Sc. in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in PCBA lifecycle management, testing strategies, and reliability engineering.  
  • Ability to read electrical, electronic and mechanical schematics and drawings, standards and technical documentation.
  • Good knowledge of ECN processes and compliance standards (IPC610).
  • Familiarity with AVL management and component lifecycle planning.
  • Fluency in English at technical level.
