Asset & Capital Services and Transactions Services as a part of Wholesale Banking Operations is responsible for settlement and safekeeping of securities. Department covers a wide range of Capital Markets, Money Markets, Forex products which includes but is not limited to bonds; equities, commercial papers, certificates of deposit, repos, derivatives, cash transactions as well as securities finance.

In Nordea we are working according to Lean and Kaizen methodology. We strive to continuously improve the processes we are responsible for and provide high level of service. Our daily work is related with close cooperation with stakeholders in Nordic countries. 

The position we offer

Dependable on a team, your responsibilities may include following:  

• Daily, weekly and monthly reconciliation of securities holdings and cash accounts  
• Investigating and resolving discrepancies between Nordea and custodian’s accounting books both cash and securities  
• Opening, closing, and updating of safekeeping/trading systems accounts and related customer data  
• Instrument static data  
• Sub-custody and e-custody agreement updating tasks  
• STP-reporting  
• Accounting data entry  
• Tax reclaim  
• Income payments (dividends, interest, redemptions, subscriptions)  
• Disclosures, coupon rate entry and coupon statements  
• Harmonize existing tasks and review potential for improvements  
• Matching counterparty instructions with direct liaison with Nordea Front Office  

The qualifications you need

• Finance related university degree or equivalent professional experience  
• Experience in financial institutions – experience in a bank back office will be an asset  
• Capital Markets products knowledge will be an asset  
• Working knowledge of Bloomberg, Reuters and other financial data providers is a strong advantage  
• Advanced knowledge of English language, both oral and written  
• Analytical and strong problem-solving and organizational skills  
• Attention to detail, and clear and concise communication skills  
• Pro-active approach to ensure that risk issues (both current and emerging) are escalated promptly to managers  
• Strong PC skills are a must including the ability to manage multiple desktop programs
• Capability to work under time pressure and prioritize tasks  
• Ability to work effectively as a team player
